This has been a terrible winter, with snow storms every other week. It is either too slippery to drive or too icy to walk. When it is both slippery and icy, you walk on the road hoping that a car wouldn’t swerve into you.

Morning after the snowstorm. My feet plunge deep into the snow. The red robins hop across the white road singing in full-throated glory. The windows are shuttered tight. No one to watch the gentle snow blowing over the withered trees. The stream struggles to flow free as icy tentacles find their way into its depths. And the snow keeps falling…
